ANTIQUE COMPACT BAG PURSE
Wonderful antique compact bag measuring 4" long and 2-1/2" wide. Featuring a ribbed exterior with ribbon weave stamped border around an unmonogrammed oval cartouche on each side. Hinged with a snap closure, it has a leather pocket compartment for calling cards or cigarettes, a tiny lift up reservoir for powder, two spring loaded coin holders and a small mirror as shown. Bearing a simple elongated loop link chain, it is marked German Silver (which is silver plated) - maker is unknown, but guessing WHS CO.
Condition is very good with overall usage wear - chain handle has lost most of it's plating - exterior and interior need a good polish - closes with a nice snap. A sweet antique bag - think it would be a fun addition to any compact, bag or purse collection or display!
